Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 15,233 crore--all funded by Government of India here on Saturday, BJP national general secretary Daggubati Purandeswari said here on Thursday.

The PM will reach here on Friday evening and proceed straightway from Visakhapatnam International Airport to the Naval Base for a night halt. Next morning he will take part in launching developmental programmes from Andhra University Engineering College grounds. Later he will address the public at the same venue amid tight security. The venue and nearby areas and all the localities falling in the route map of the PM's convoy have been taken control by the Central paramilitary and State police forces. SPG commandos and bomb-detection dog squads have already arrived in the city.

Purandeswari told the media that the Centre is committed for all round development of Andhra Pradesh and explained how they have grounded various schemes to bridge the gap between haves and have-nots.

The laying of foundation stone for South Coast Railway Zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam, the first phase buildings of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Rs 26,000 crore-expansion of HPCL Visakh Refinery, do not find place in the PM's itinerary as speculated earlier by the BJP leaders.

According to a PIB release, Modi will inaugurate/dedicate to the nation the construction of grassroot POL depot at Guntakal (IOCL) worth Rs 385 crore and doubling and electrification of Vijayawada-Gudivada-Bhimavaram-Nidadavolu, Gudivada-Machilipatnam and Bhimavaram-Narasapuram (221 km) at a cost of Rs 4,106 crore.

He will lay the foundation stone of Andhra Pradesh section of six-lane Greenfield Raipur- Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor. It will be built at a cost of more than Rs 3,750 crore.
